    1) Tigers and Bulldogs are both used 12 times, although if you count the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs, the Bulldog count is 13. The other counts are Wildcats (9), Bears (7), and Eagles (5). If you count Golden Eagles, the Eagles count is up to 8. Notable, if you count all the different types of Hawks, there are 8 of those as well.

    2) This one's Tigers also, at a count of 5.

    3) This one's Bulldogs, at a count of 8 (9 if you count Gardner-Webb again).

    4) The Cougars and the Owls on this one, both at 3. The Cougars are Houston, BYU, and Washington State. The Owls are Temple, Rice, and Florida Atlantic.

    5) The Bison and the Hornets on this one, both at 3 also. The Bison are Bucknell, Howard, and North Dakota State. The Hornets are Sacramento State, Delaware State, and Alabama State.

    6) 4: Campbell Fighting Camels, Illinois Fighting Illini, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and North Dakota Fighting Sioux.

    7) 8: Minnesota Golden Gophers, Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, Tulsa Golden Hurricane, Kent State Golden Flashes, Florida International Golden Panthers, Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, Morehead State Golden Eagles, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions.

    8) 8: Cornell Big Red, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Miami Redhawks, Arkansas State Red Wolves, Illinois State Redbirds, St. Francis (PA) Red Flash, SE Missouri State Redhawks, and Marist Red Foxes.

    9) 5: Duke Blue Devils, Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders, Presbyterian Blue Hose, Delaware Blue Hens, and Central Connecticut State Blue Devils.

    10) Lynx is the mascot of Rhodes College, a Division III school, not Division I. The others are Division I mascots: Northwestern State Demons, South Dakota State Jackrabbits, Stony Brook Seawolves, and Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils.

    11) Retrievers is not a mascot name for any Division I schools. There are four Huskies: Washington, Connecticut, Northern Illinois, and Northeastern. Albany Great Danes, Wofford Terriers, and a whole slew of Bulldogs exist.

    12) Fightin' Injuns is not a mascot name for any Division I schools. Louisiana-Lafayette is the Ragin' Cajuns and Gardner-Webb is the Runnin' Bulldogs.
