Saturday Open Thread

If that doesn't get you excited for a day of football, then you can just catch the next Delta flight back to Moscow, Comrade.

Use the comments section to react to all the big plays, bonehead coaching decisions, outrageous penalties, outbreaks of announcer foot-in-mouth disease, or whatever tickles your fancy. Creative taunting is allowed and encouraged.

  2. It's just not the same watching Jefferson Pilot/Raycom/Lincoln Financial for 11am kickoff from Starkville or Lexington.

  3. Bama lookin good early. A good return by Arenas. A 95-yd drive for a TD. Two 3 and outs. Only blemish was the weird fumble call on the first play from scrimmage.

  4. And UNC-ECU is faring much better than expected (unfortunately for the Heels).

/I know it's an SEC blog, but I'm under one of those "Ex-Pats" in the blog to the right.

  5. Interesting that Bama is up this big...Also, not surprised by the close UK-Louisville game. Let me be the first to start the Fulmer to Louisville rumor...

Nice video, Drake! I have to agree with Dick. It's not the same not having a JP/Lincoln/Raycom game at 11:30 - especially when DirecTV doesn't offer ESPNU in HD. Bring on the more interesting games!

  6. Are you kidding, Dick, a 10-pt lead is a blowout for the boys in baby blue!

  7. Tennessee did not get the memo re: blowout.

Once again, the Quack Attack uniforms are hurting my eyes.

  8. I don't think any teams got the memo about being consistent from week to week, cough, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, cough.

  9. I'm so glad that USC lost. Does anyone actually like Pete Carroll?

  10. I can't listen to this announcer say "Vandabilt" anymore.

  11. W Va. runs Auburn's offense, but better.

  12. Back to back interceptions? This AU game may kill me.

  13. How is it Auburn manages to constantly miss tackling the WV QB?!

Ole Miss looked sloppy and will lose Thursday if they play like they did tonight...

Not SEC, but I figured Texas would run TTU out of their stadium. Didn't happen, though.

Vandy is worse than I thought if they can't beat a horrendous State team.

  14. Looks like I was wrong on the line for AU since they scored that extra touchdown late. I did say expect Auburn to win a tight one late, which was correct. I just wasn't right on the line. Oh yeah, and I went 4-6 on the games for the week. On yahoo, I did go from cellar dweller early to 7th place late (hitting a 19 point Georgia win and an 11 point Texas Tech to beat the spread).
